Sanatorium – spa hotel “Ordjonikidze” built in 1930s together with adjacent “Primorskaya” spa hotel (last 4 photos) are interesting places to visit in Sochi. You can have a walk in the parks and see the crumbling examples of Stalin’s time architecture.
Luckily both places are still open to public. There are many old trees, great views, no shops or cafes and a very special atmosphere.
SINCE 2010 YOU CANNOT WALK HERE ANY MORE! The place was bought by ‘you know who’, people sacked and territory closed for pubic. Today this empty building is crumbling to pieces guarded by a few guards and video cameras. The two nearby spas and being surrounded by fences leaving locals and guests very few options to walk around. Today, you are only able to walk along the polluted main road.
