White limestone cliffs towering 400 m above Agura river with majestic pine trees is a unique and picturesque place not far from the centre of Sochi. These cliffs are called Eagles' rocks.

The walk from Sochi Matsesta spa and back takes about  three hours. You can take this walk any time of year but be ready to go up the hill as you will have to ascend 380 m above the sea level to enjoy the view. The road to the rocks starts behind matsesta spa caves, goes up past a spring and a small meadow and enters the forest again. Here you will see a stone eagle head fixed or too thin concrete poles, soon you will come to a bigger meadow. This is almost half the way up. Here you can choose a new concrete road, an old serpentine Road through the forest or a path. They all lead to the rocks just make sure you go up most of the time. The fastest although the steepest way is the new concrete road. If you choose the latter you will never get lost. The road goes up along  the rim of the meadow and up into the forest again where it gets really steep. The forest stops where rocky cliffs fall to Agura Valley. You have reached the top of the Eagles' rocks, no more uphill walking today. A narrow path runs all the way along the cliffs' edge as a borderline between a lush deciduous forest and majestic pine trees that grow on the cliffs. Choose a nice sport and enjoy a stunning view of the Caucasus on the left and the black sea on the right. In front of you rises the highest mountain in the vicinity of Sochi, Ahun mountain (600 m). Down 400 m below you will see or even hear Agura river waterfalls. After you have enjoed the scenery you can go back the same way or continue walking towards the mountains until the path turns right and starts descending down to Agura waterfalls. Turn right when you reach the river. The path from the waterfalls runs down the valley and 30-40 minutes you will reach the entrance to Agura waterfall path. There is a restaurant and a bar near the entrance. A 20 minute walk from this place will take you to the main road and the  bus stop near Sochi Sputnik Spa.
